Future Proof your Business through Diversification – Report

The SAC Consulting Food and Drink team have published a report on diversification of farms. The work, funded by the Scottish Government, provides guidance and examples of diversification opportunities, supported by case studies of successful diversification business models across Scotland.

With Brexit uncertainty on the horizon and farm subsidy payments expected to fall after 2021, diversification can provide farmers and rural businesses with new income streams, adding value to outputs and increasing profitability and in turn ensuring the long-term sustainability of their businesses. The report presents examples of new ventures a farm could move towards; such as glamping, agri-tourism, farm-vending, wedding venues and more.
