EU CAP Reform and Mercosur trade deal – Policy Brief, Agribusiness News

In the July 2019 issue of Agribusiness News (from the Farm Advisory Service) Anna Sellars (SAC Consultant) has written a policy brief depicting the new CAP and Mercosur trade deal. The new CAP is currently being prepared and consulted on by EU member states, due to implemented from the 1st January 2021. Whilst, should the UK have left the EU by then, this might not directly apply to UK And Scottish farmers, as EU farmers are a major producer and trading partner, how they are supported remains important.

The policy brief explores what the predicted changes in the CAP for 2021-2027 would mean for UK farmers, and the new significant EU Mercosur trade deal. The new deal raises concerns for farmers in the EU.
